Housekeeping… kind of
I have been a little quiet on the blog… but all for good reasons! I will start with a little update (because who doesn’t love a little nosy), there have been a few fun changes since I last popped anything on the blog, so... the boring and functional… the One Off Works studios have now been re-branded as Hannah Heys Surface Pattern Design and Illustration and One Off Works is now the dedicated name for the online shop… confusing… I hope not!
I have been quietly working away on my portfolio and even took it to the Association of Illustrators (of which I am now a proud member) last month for a review, which was a little terrifying but a brilliant experience, and I came away with lots of ideas for new projects too, so watch this space! If you want to have a look at a little snapshot of my portfolio then click here or get in touch if you would like to see my password protected site (for clients only).
Make It In Design… my experience so far
One of the most exciting things that is happening at the moment (that I can share), is that I am taking part in Make It In Design’s Module 3! I took part in their Winter School as an exercise to push myself to complete trend led briefs to a specific time scale and as a bit of fun… and it really was, I loved the course, the trend inspiration, the tutors and the community so thought I would share a little of the work I did below… and go back for more.
So fast forward a few months and I am back again, taking part in Module 3, it is a bit of a punch in the face if I am honest, the pace is like a leopard… sprinting… on speed… (basically a lot more intense that Winter School), I LOVE IT! So far we have completed quite a few fun creative exercises, the strangest design task that I have undertaken to date… nail wraps (not being a particularly girly person… this was an interesting exercise), all designed for trends forecasted by WGSN. It turned out I loved the end result and enjoyed the challenge, so all in all a great exercise! Let me know what you think of the results and I WILL be back soon with more on the blog.
